It was introduced in 2013 and has proven to be very popular. The Ultra-Light 12-foot Solo Packboat is made in the same mold as the Vermont Packboat but it uses more Kevlar in the composite construction, which makes it strong and much lighter.
We have changed the seat configuration, footrest, trim pattern, and lamination schedule to make a boat that is easily portaged—solo. You’ll find the Solo Packboat is civilized and very agile. It’s light enough for anyone to carry or easily transport.Â
The boat hull is built with a Kevlar composite and trimmed with select cherry wood.Â

EXTERIOR COLOR OPTIONS
Color choices mostly apply to our Kevlar boats. However, in the old days, a majority of the wooden kayak and canoe alternatives in the Adirondack were painted. Even today, perhaps 10% of our wooden boats are painted. Sometimes inside and out, sometimes only the exterior. If you are thinking in that direction regarding a wooden boat, let’s talk. The balance of this color conversation will apply to our Kevlar boats.
All of the boat colors are rich and deep and durable. Rather than using gelcoat, we tint our resins. The particular color of your boat will vary from day to day, hour to hour, by light and the shadows playing on the hull.
