SOTAR is a family run, custom whitewater inflatable boat manufacturer based in Merlin, Oregon in the USA. Every boat is built by hand and made one at a time. Started in 1980 and SOTAR is still flourishing 40 years later.
SOTAR’s specialty is giving white water sports lovers a boat that is custom designed to personal specifications. Color options are not the only options available. You can change design specs to fit the rivers you run and the specialized use of a raft, cataraft, or inflatable kayak.
The Sotar Strike is our ultimate fishing boat. We have been custom-building it for John Herzer with Blackfoot River Outfitters since 1984. It evolved from our SS model raft, designed with the fisherman in mind. Strikes come standard with four air chambers in the main outside tube, a welded I-beam floor, standard ten outside d-rings and 6 carry handles, a patch kit, and a boat bag. Top chafe, thwarts, extra D-rings, and other options are available upon request. All SOTAR Inflatables are designed and manufactured one at a time. No other Inflatables are made with such personal care and attention.
Features
Designed for fishing by fishermen, the Strike is the ultimate fishing raft. It has asymmetrically diminished tubes and a lower rake in the bow, which provides a flatter profile while maintaining a small water footprint. This makes the Strike stable through minimal whitewater and maneuverable enough to get into your favorite fishing hole.
