Oars are long poles with a wide , flat blade at one end used to drive your rowing shell into a particular direction. It consists of several parts, the handle, shaft, sleeve, collar, shaft, and blade, and is attached to the boat at the oarlock.
Types of Oars
☑ Macon is the traditional u-shaped blade and the oars are symmetrical on both sides. Its blade is less likely to catch the water on the return stroke makes it more effective when want to row without feathering.
☑ Hatchet is the modern oar with rectangular or hatchet blade shape and is slightly more efficient.
