Designed and assembled in the USA, the BLU3 Nomad Scuba Diving System- 1 Battery is an extremely user-friendly and portable battery-powered tankless diving system that floats on the surface like a buoy and delivers you compressed air through a 40 foot long hose as you breathe underwater.

The nomad is the newest addition to their products. Extremely compact and user-friendly, Nomad provides 45-60+ minutes of dive time per battery, depending on diver usage. The battery is airplane travel friendly, so you can travel around the world and dive deeper, explore the underwater world with the BLU3 Nomad.

General information 

The general restrictions for travelling by air with batteries is set by IATA dangerous goods regulations (IATA-DGR). The restrictions for passengers carrying a rechargeable Lithium–Ion onboard depends on the Watt-hour (Wh) rating of the battery. Different restrictions also apply depending if the battery is installed in the equipment or brought as spare (extra) battery. A general requirement for allowing a Lithium-ion battery onboard is that it is tested and certified for air transport in accordance with Part III, Sub-section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria.

The BLU3 Diving Systems rechargeable battery (Model: TLH-INR18650HE4-144) is tested and certified for air transport in accordance with Part III, Sub-section 38.3 of the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria (see separate UN transportation certificate).

Additional notes

If the battery is installed in equipment this must be packaged so it won’t accidentally turn on during the flight. Spare batteries should be packed individually with battery terminals covered by the provided dust cap to prevent short circuit of batteries during the flight. A maximum of 2 spare Nomad batteries may be brought as carry-on baggage.

☑ The Smart Reg™
What allows Nomad to be so compact, energy-efficient, and responsive is our patent-pending Smart Reg™ – the first of its kind!
Here’s how it works: A silicone diaphragm inside the Smart Reg™ moves when the diver breathes. A waterproofed sensor measures the diaphragm movement – it then sends an electronic signal which triggers the compressor to pump air at exactly the time and speed that the diver is inhaling.

☑ The Compressor
With deeper depths, higher pressure and flow rates are required for diving. BLU3 custom compressor designed by our team in Florida, USA has been customized to fit this application. For example – even if you accidentally get saltwater inside your pump, no damage will be done. Just rinse freshwater through. Don’t try that with any other compressors!
Nomad’s flotation shell surrounding the compressor gives the unit inherent buoyancy without the need for a flotation tube. The flotation shell is rotomolded from hard, durable plastic and filled with foam so that it’s unsinkable. That being said, you should use the Dry Bag Float whenever you dive for additional buoyancy, stability, and visibility.

Nomad’s 40-foot air hose is the perfect balance of weight, flexibility, and durability. The coils prevent the hose from kinking and make it super easy to handle. Bungee the hose up for easy storage. (Hose is longer than max depth to allow for more scope, making Nomad easier to tow while diving at max depth).
