I bought two inflatable 12’6 race boards for my wife and I while we’re here in Florida for the winter. We don’t race but we like to go as fast as possible so we can cover more distance in a given period of time. We’ve only been out a few times on the intercostal waterway but the boards seem fine. We have carbon race boards at home but this is our first experience with inflatables. No surprise the inflatables are not as rigid as carbon but they are surprisingly stiff. We don’t have an electric pump so it requires quite a lot of effort to manually pump them up to the recommended 18 PSI. I'd recommend an electric pump if you have to inflate/deflate often. For the money these inflatable SUP’s seem well built and good value. Plus we can take them home on the plane as checked baggage.
It is easy to inflate, deflate and pack away. I got up on the first try and was elated. It is a bit unstable but takes no time at all to get used to. What I noticed right away with this sup is how soft the base is on your feet which I think is very important if you want to travel any distance at all
The isup itself seems to be very well made but I was still careful to keep it away from rocks. Traveling with this sup is also another nice feature as I plan on supping near our home - as well as at Lake.
I used this iSUPfor this first time recently at Lake Powell. My husband helped me to inflate it with an electric pump and then we finished it off with the hand pump provided, which worked very well to establish final pressure.
I've been able to take my paddle board out a couple times now and I absolutely love it! The size is perfect for me - I'm 5'10" and 160 pounds and at ~11/12 psi, the board stays stable and doesn't bow at all.
