The DIY (Do It Yourself) Fin & Rudder Adapter is the base for every other Bixpy WillFit™ Adapter, so it makes the perfect DIY Adapter. You can use this adapter to custom build your own BixpyReady™ fin or rudder.
This is also the adapter you will need for BixpyReady™ components from other manufacturers - Example: Vibe Bixpy-Ready Gravity Rudder will require this adapter to fit the Bixpy J-1 PowerShroud™ Motor.
If you need to mount the motor to a flat surface, you can add the Flat Surface Bracket for a flat-mount. In addition to this DIY adapter, we also offer a DIY adapter for ThruHull™ installations.
If you have a rudder, centerboard or skeg plate or anything with 1/4" (6mm) thickness and you would like to motorize it, you can download a DIY blade template and make your own motorized rudder or skeg with the DIY (Do It Yourself) Fin & Rudder Adapter.
Check out this instructional video on exactly how to do that in minutes. In this video, we install a Bixpy Jet to a rudder from a Viking Kayak. You can attach the Bixpy DIY Rudder Adapter to virtually any kayak rudder using the same method. You can also use the same method to attach the jets to virtually any fin on any small watercraft.
The Adjustable V-ARM™ Steering Bracket gives you a full range of motion and adjusts to provide responsive and fine-tuned steering.
